A festive take on an old favorite.
- 1 scant tsp spiced simple syrup
- 2 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz (60 ml) bourbon
- slice of orange zest
- maraschino cherry
- Stovetop: 1) In an old-fashioned glass, combine simple syrup and bitters. 2) Fill glass with large ice cubes, add the bourbon and stir. 3) Squeeze the orange peel over glass rim to extract oils, add peel and cherry to the glass.
Use the syrup as a cordial and top with club soda or Prosecco for festive fizz.
